Camp Director

Julie Klabunde is Founder and Camp Director at Adventure Kids. She has a Masters in Elementary Education and over 18 years experience in working with children. As a full-time teacher, camp director and mother of two teenagers, she is all about kids.

Assistant Camp Director

Sharman Stephenson is Assistant Camp Director for Adventure Kids. She also has more than 23 years experience working with children in a variety of settings. Miss Sharman draws from her extensive creative background to enhance every aspect of camp.

Recreation Director

Jill Rugh is Recreation Director for Adventure Kids. She has a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and over 7 years experience working with children. She contributes her boundless positive energy to create fun and engaging activities.

Counselors

All counselors are First Aid and CPR certified. The entire staff receives annual training on camp policy and procedures as well as training on topics and issues related to the care of children in a group setting. Many staff members are former campers and graduates of our CIT Program.  References are checked on each new staff member before they are hired, including police background checks.

CIT Program

Counselors in Training (CIT) are volunteer staff members between the ages of 13 - 15 years. CIT's assist counselors but are not left in charge of campers. Due to the popularity of this program, eligibility is limited to former campers only.
